All staff and volunteers working in close proximity to the children in the Nursery will be checked by the Social Services departments in line with protection procedures to comply with Part X, section 71, of the Children's Act 1989.
All staff will be required to complete and submit forms for clearance to the OFSTED inspection unit prior to commencing employment.
Children will only be allowed to leave the Nursery with the person's named on the registration forms, unless by prior arrangement, preferably written.
Grunty's Day Care Nursery has a moral and professional responsibility to report suspected abuse or neglect in order to protect a child. Whenever staff in the Nursery suspect that a child is suffering from abuse, they must report their concerns to the Manager and to the Nursery Child Protection Officer or Deputy Officer in charge. It will be their responsibility to report any suspicions to the Social Services duty officer for the area where the child resides.
