Frequently Asked Questions at Grunty’s Day Care

What are your opening hours?
We are open between the hours of 7:30am and 6:30pm, for more information about session times please refer to our session’s page.

How much are your nursery fee’s?

Do you require any monies upfront?
We require a £50 registration fee and a 2 week deposit of your child’s weekly fees. This money is held with your account until your child leaves and then the full amount will be returned to you once the final payment is made.

Is there a minimum amount of sessions?
We require any child registered with us to attend nursery for the minimum of two sessions per week, this may be two half sessions or 1 full day.

Do you offer settling in sessions?
We offer three 1 hour settling in sessions to help you and your child to become more familiar with the setting. These settling in sessions give you the opportunity to discuss routines and nursery life with your child’s key person.

Do I need to pay nursery fees during bank holidays or if my child is ill?
Unfortunately nursery fees are still payable during bank holidays and if your child is ill. However, no nursery fee’s are charged while we are shut over the Christmas period and we also offer one 50% off fees holiday week per year.

Will my child be entitled to free government funded childcare?
All 3 year old’s are entitled to Free Early Education Childcare from the term after their 3rd birthday. Some 2 year old’s are also entitled but this is criteria met. For more information please visit either Free Early Education or

How will I know my child is safe?
All our staff have a Disclosure and Barring service check (DBS) and they are all paediatric First Aid trained. We have a key coded front door, and a bio-metric fingerprint system so only authorised people, such as parents and staff can gain access to the setting.

Do you accept childcare vouchers?
We do accept childcare vouchers as a form of payment. We are registered with most childcare voucher providers. For more information please visit Child Care Vouchers.
